What is Peel Strength?

Peel strength, also referred to as peel force, is a critical physical parameter that measures the force required to separate two bonded surfaces at a specific angle and speed.

It is widely applied in industries like adhesive tapes, release films, protective films, and waterproofing materials. This index directly reflects the bonding stability and ease of separation between materials.

Common test standards include 180° and 90° peel tests, with results usually expressed in N/in or gf/cm. For release films, low peel strength ensures smooth stripping without residue; for structural bonding products, high peel strength guarantees durable adhesion.

Accurate peel strength data helps optimize material formulas, ensure product applicability, and maintain consistent quality in industrial production and application.
